We decided to do some apple picking this past weekend. We went to a local orchard where we could pick our own apples and see some animals. It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon, albeit a bit cold.
Maggie also got to try out her new coat! We wanted to pick about 1/2 a bushel…we ended up with 30 pounds. Kole thinks it was about 200% more apples than we needed. We canned 3 batches of pie filling – that’s 21 quarts, my friends. Yes, 21 apple pies. Just so you know, if you invite us anywhere in the next year and a dish to pass is required – we are bringing pie.
(Some of these look like a weird color because they're in the old blue Ball canning jars. We didn’t mess things up…really!)
