Making

We've had a few good days of 2-3 hour blocks of sleep, which has allowed for a brief return to making stuff. Lots of sewing projects in the works - we'll share more when they are officially finished. In the meantime...

We made baby wipes. We are going with cloth diapers, and after much consideration, we decided against cloth wipes. With some experience under our belts, we've discovered that store bought wipes leave much to be desired. They (1) are expensive (2) dry out quickly and (3) require a trip to the store to purchase. Instead, we decided to make our own using a recipe gifted to us.

Homemade Baby Wipes:
1 roll Bounty BIG - cut in half with a bred knife
2.5 cups warm water
2 tablespoons baby shampoo
3 tablespoons baby oil

Mix oil, shampoo and water in a 10 cup rubbermaid container. Put in half roll cut side down. Let stand 8 minutes. Turn container upside down, let stand 8 minutes more. Tip up and remove core. Pull wipes from center.

These have been working really well, and they offer us a cost-effective way to keep a set of wipes both upstairs and down.
