Breaking the silence.
It's been over a month since I posted here. Sorry - so much happening at home, work, etc. that I kind of lost track of the time. I'll try to do better over the summer. Starting... NOW! :-)
I wanted to share some photos of life around our place the past few weeks, but both Live Writer and Blogger are giving me trouble, so here are the 2 that worked. Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow!

We heart CSA's
Recently we had the opportunity to visit our new CSA for this year! They deliver much closer to our house - at the Wednesday night farmer's market - yeah! We drove out to the farm to get a tour and pick up free asparagus.
Roasted with a little olive oil & lemon juice and topped with shredded Parmesan...Yummy!

My First Mother's Day!
What a wonderful family day. We went to church together and had an indoor picnic lunch, seeing as it was 46 degrees outside. I was gifted a MayaWrap sling a few days early since I was threatening to order one online. We also hit the zoo as they were offering free admission for moms!
There's a moose in the background there...really. The trip was a lot of fun. Kole and I have been to the zoo previously, but being the cheapos that we are, we have always gone in the evening when they offer free admission. Not coincidentally, the animals are always put away or sleeping during the free time. Well, I'll have you know that if you go to the zoo during regular hours, there are really animals that are up and moving! This was the first time I got to see the moose and the giraffe up close! Maggie slept through the whole thing. Maybe in a few months it'll be exciting for her, too.
I also received a special gift from Maggie and Wally. It made me laugh, no, it made me guffaw out loud. (See proof of guffawing below).
It's a Chia Obama. Who doesn't need one of those?

the smell of sunshine
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the smell of clothes dried on the line. There is just something about putting on a t-shirt or snuggling between sheets that smell like sunshine and summer that
makes me happy.
I enjoy hanging the clothes out, feeling a little greener, a little cleaner... But I especially feel a smile creep across my face every time I hang Maggie's diapers out there. Something about them lined up in rows flapping in the breeze is just happy.

Minnie
Last weekend we spent some wonderful quality time with friends in the Twin Cities. Good food, good laughs, good times had by all. Among the weekend adventures were several estate sales. Kole and I came home with just a few treasures...

We heart estate sales - so much more good stuff to dig through. Too bad they don't seem to happen much in our neck of the woods.
